67 ranchero purchase

Hello. I'm usually an F100 person, but I need a little help with a 1967 Fairlane 500 Ranchero that I ran across that is for sale. It is in nice shape with a very clean interior, and except for the paint, the body was nice. It originally had a 289 in it, but that was replaced with a 1970 351W. It has an edlebrock intake and 4 barrel carb on it. It's an automatic, and the front brakes have been converted to disk. It also has a nice set of american racing rims on it. It has factory ac that may need a little work. He is asking $2500 for the ranchero. Does this seem like a good price? Of course I will try to get it for less. I hear the 67s are a one year only vehicle, and can be difficult to find parts for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That sounds like a good price considering what has been done to it. 67 Ranchero is a one year design, but 66 comet, Fairlane and Torino cars have parts that interchange on this truck. as the same modelsin 67. Just trim packages are different.
For 2500 and has a good solid body it is a worth while buy.

Thanks for your input 66gpw. I keep thinking about the vehicle, but I still have my 68 F100 thats not yet finished. I'd probably need to sell it if I pick up the ranchero. Thanks again.

The 66 was based on the Falcon, where as the 67 is based on the Fairlane, the difference being front end sheet metal as well as the dash inside (don't quote me on the dash thing) I belong to the Fairlane club of America and have one back issue that has a 66 that was Fairlane based and apperantly the only one built that year the rest were Falcon based. I would love a 67 XL big block to match my 66 big block GTA but I also would have to sell my 69 swb.

Thanks for the info mblayton. I drove by the guys shop yesterday, and it was still there. I'm going to wait another week, and if he still has it I may make him an offer. In the meantime, I'm getting my f100 ready fo a possible sale. Thanks again.
