Eagle Alloys Wheel Question

I bought a set of 15x8 Eagle 058's awhile back and they had a sticker on them that said to not run a bigger tire than a 32" O.D.

That got me curious...

Why do they suggest to not run a bigger tire than that? Is the wheel diameter too small, too narrow?

This is the first set of wheels that I've bought, and it threw me off a bit.

Thanks!

it's insurance and liability. same reason automakers put stickers on the sun visors about putting your seatbelt on and the sticker on the hair dryer that states not to use in shower/bath!

kubota was running 44 tsl's on his eagle alloys up until he bought his double beadlocks not too long ago!

What I have noticed between ones (15" rims) rated for 31s and ones rated for 35s, by the OEM, is the lip from the bottom of the bead to the outside edge is a tad longer and thicker.

Also, I have noticed the shape of the bead area is different between steel rims and aluminum rims, though that may have been an OEM difference since I was comparing rims side to side from different OEMs.

Also, the ones for 31s had a max of only 41 psi, which was kind of useless considering most of the LT C rated 15" tires run to 60 psi.

fishy has it right, they put that on there, so when you put a set of 35s on them and go thrash the truck and destroy a rim they can deny warrenty claims and basically tell ya it's your problem

Thanks, guys.

I was just wanting to make sure that it wasn't on there for a REAL purpose!
