Can anyones 7.3 squeel the tires????

I was wondering if anyones 7.3 diesel stock can squeel the tires with out building up the boost.. Also when does your guys turbo kick in if i step on it it dosent kick in till like 35 miles and hour and in takes like 5 seconds to get up too 35... I dont want to put all kinds of performance parts in a have a **** truck i had a ford with a 460 stock and it will dust this thing.... This one day i burned a 2006 dullay crew cab cummins diesel up a hill we were going 65 and we both stepped on it and i burned him.... I don't know but i'm not happy with my truck..

May not be turbo, could be as simple as a boost leak, clogged ebp tube, dirty fuel filter, etc.

How long since you changed fuel filters?
how old is the oil, is it full, is it the correct weight and grade? ( I know this seems silly asking this but the oil in our engines does a lot of things, like drive the injectors.)
are you running any fuel additive?
how many miles on trk.

No, the 7.3 PSD is not the Speed Demon of all the turbo diesels, but, you can hook a house to it and tow it for 400K miles before it ever knows what happend. The 7.3 is a medium duty engine that is designed for longevity, yes they can be made to go quick, but they can aslo be very satisfactory in stock form as long as the little things are kept adjusted.
Think of it like this thousands of school buses, garbage trucks, u-hauls, and dumpers can't be wrong.

Just because the 7.3 is bigger than any other small truck engine in the big three, doesn't mean its going to be the fastest or have the most HP. We are working on 1994 technology, that is when our engines came out and very little was changed since then.

Wink

I, too am from the old school--I believe that Diesels were made to pull or haul lots of weight w/o problems.
I can't for the life of me understand all the need to smoke the tires or the need to set a tuner to max and blow BLACK smoke out the exhaust just to **** someone off-(thats unburned fuel, you know!)

Big Man Brad, if you're talking about a stock 7.3, they're just slow, my friend. You're making maybe 190 hp or around there at the wheels in a big, heavy truck. Put a hot chip on it and it'll jump to life.
