tune up question ford f250 sd 5.4L
gjvoight:
I would suggest using Motorcraft wires. Spark plugs are a toss up. Most folks say to use the Motorcraft platnium plugs. I personally have had very good results with Bosch platniums. Just remember to gap them correctly and to use dilectric grease on the plug boots.

dielectric grease helps keep moisture out, so it rules out any possible oxidation of the metal contact parts
plug wires: I've used Motorcraft and FRPP
plugs: I use Autolite Coppers since I don't mind changing them once a year. For extended use, Autolite double platinums work very well for extended intervals. make sure to only remove the plugs when the engine is cold so you don't yank out or damage the threads in the heads. Use anti-seize grease on the plug threads before you put them in.
buy a tamperproof torx bit set with a T-20 bit to remove the mass air meter from it's housing and clean it with maf cleaner spray or electrical parts cleaner. TCCoA Tech Articles
flush the cooling system with prestone system cleaner, and then with distilled water + antifreeze. Replace the coolant reservoir cap with a new oem motorcraft one. Replace thermostat and Tstat O-ring
drain the transmission fluid and drain out the torque converter. Replace transmission fluid filter and refill with mercon-V trans fluid.
Drain and refill differential.
thats what I would do in addition to what already has been said.
