Question very rough idol...

Does any one know what would cause a very, very, rough idol after taking the car for a tune up? its a 95 4.0l xlt 2wd. took it for a tune up about a year ago, and AFTER we got the car (had plugs/wires done) back it idols rough, to the point of when we go to accelerate it sputters and wants to die, but after its going it driver perfectly (just went to tacoma and back from portland last night with no problems). maintenence has been regular, nothing else wrong with van, not even 100k on it yet (mom's cream puff grociery getter) no mods or anything to it. very confused and its kind of annoying... specialy when we have to pop it in neutral and slightly rev it.... would installing a tac help find any thing out? i have one... thanks!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: we have tried fuel injector cleaner twice... didn't make much difference

The Mass air senser, black box just after the air box can get dirt on the coil and cause it to run rough. I just pull mine out and cleaned it with a swap and alcohol. Have you tried to run the codes to see if anything comes up?

My local auto parts, Shucks, said the samething but when the guy looked in the box that the reader was in, there was a adapter that would work on my 90.

Did I read this right? It came back from the shop running like this and you let it go for a year???
Well you have no legal recourse now. Check to see if they screwed up the plug wires - got them on the wrong cylinders. Look for disconnected connectros etc

yes you read them right. :-( my mom has work done on her car done only when it HAS to be done. or when my dad and i harrass her to get it done. its not smart, i know, but she's stubborn and there's no way around it. but if the wires were hooked up wrong, wouldn't it not run right at all speeds or types of driving?

Are U sure ISC is OK? Disconnect it on idling engine? If no difference, check the solenoid resistance with DVOM. Good solenoid, but no effect, may be valve is dirty and clogged. Remove it with 10 mm socket (2 6mm bolts) and cleane it with TB cleaner.
