hadley air horns...

I almost have my hadley air horns hooked up, only one problem..hooking up the air lines....It says to insert the brass (bullet looking thing) into the hose and then use the hose nut to tighten it to the fitting..except it doesn;t hold.....am i doing somthing wrong or is there somethine I can do to fix this? thanks ALOT

My brothers truck and my moms truck both have the hadleys, ill ask when i get home about this.

Is there also a brass or plastic ferrule that slips over the hose? The brass insertkeeps the tube fron crushing as the nut & ferrule tighten.

Hes not home right now, so if i see him today ill ask him for ya, he installed the one on his truck and my moms. I dont know if want to put them on my truck, so ive been debating it for awhile and i need to buy just the compressor, since we got the horns and tank from a garage sale for like 10$ lol.
