questions for a friend

my buddy has an 03 7.3, he is in dire need of some performance stuff, hopefully homemade, he has a superchip and an afe intake, the truck dumps boost out the wastegate, does anybody have some homemade mods to fool the wastegate? i was thinking of installing a "T" in the map line to bleed off excess boost before it hits the map to prevent the early blow off, or is it better to spend the 200 on the banks big head?

Try unplugging the red line off the turbo and plug it onto an intercooler bracket. That will make it hold boost without the pcm helping to pull boost. And do not just "T" the map line. That will make you loose boost and we don't want that. You will want a Overboost Annihilator from ITP Diesel to keep the cel from coming on.

He is losing "drive pressure" from the wastegate, not "boost". You can do what redfire mentioned, remove the red pressure line and elbow from the wastegate canister, and plug it on a bolt on one of the intercooler boot clamps nearby. If that puts you over 24psi of boost, you'll get a SES light. Then go to ITP diesel, get their regulator and then you will be good to go.
