So, I go to the dealer that sold me my truck to get the last of 2 free oil changes. I asked the service manager if he could view the oil pan and let me know if it's a candidate for replacement under the extended warantee. I told him there is always one drop of oil hanging from the plug and we both agree it's probably just the plug gasket. I talk to him after the oil change and he gets on the phone and sets me up for a replacement. I'm pretty darn happy about that. Oh, BTW, what got us started talking was the FTE t-shirt (the one with the "chick truck" as someone recently stated, on the back) I was wearing.
Cool that they're doing it for you....but I'm always a little nervous about somebody else removing my engine....then there's the three days they'll have the truck.
yes, the thought of someone else working under the hood is not pleasant. But, the thought of that motor dangling from my inadequate cherry picker is not pleasant either. I'll just keep my fingers crossed.
It does take a big ***** of a hoist to hold that dude up. Good dealers typically have pretty fair wrenches working for them.....I'm sure you'll be fine.
Lucky you, my '00 was one month out of warranty, but under the mileage and they wouldn't touch it. Never mind that I purchased 5 trucks from them. They didn't get the business either, not after that BS.
