Looking to replace steering wheel on 75 F100

Hello all,

It is me again. =)

I want to replace the steering wheel on my 1975 F100. No cruise, no tilt just a plain 16" steering wheel. I know I can buy a new one online but sheesh those are expensive!!

My question is: Are there any compatable steering wheels from other Ford cars and/or trucks that I should look for?

I plan to visit some junkyards to find a replacement wheel and just wanted to know if I should be looking at other makes/models that would fit. Can I take any 16" wheel that looks similar?

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Phil

look for a sport steering wheel. they are my favorite. i installed one on my 77 f350. beware though, some do and some don't have the horn option. i bought mine off ebay in pieces, a wheel then a horn button then an unbent wheel. myhorn never worked and now i have a button on the column for my air horns. the wheels are usually silver in the center, but sometimes black, with leather (or fake) grips. the horn button is available from NPD if you find a wheel and no button. check f series and broncos. some cars had them too.

Thanks for the response rusty, I appreciate it. I am considering an aftermarket steering wheel if I cannot find a original near here in the junkyards for an affordable price. =)
