31 to 33 swap, 4hi or 4lo?

Hey guys, I have a 1995 bronco with a 5.0.,E40D,BW1356, 3.55 gears with rear L/S, and 31" A/T. When I go mud running with it I usually ran 4hi and 2nd gear. A friend of mine is selling me some used 33" Super Swamper bias ply TSL's. My question is should I continue to run 4hi or is 4lo a better choice for the increase in size? When I ran the 31's my rpm's usually stayed between 2500 and 3500 and gave me plenty of wheel spin and good enough traction. I don't want the truck to dog in 4hi and get stuck, but I'm thinking 4lo would be too much though. This truck is my dual purpose DD/toy for now until I get myself a car if that helps at all. Thanks in advance for tips guys.

nobody is going to be able to tell you this magical answer. You are just going to have to dive in and see. Maybe 4hi in first gear will do you right, and maybe the engine will still pull the taller tire. It is bigger, and traction wil be quite a bit more, so you are just going to have to do a little trial and error.
This is how we all learn. Sometimes some things work, and sometimes they do not. Store it in the old memory under, the "good idea" category, or the "what was I thinking" category. Either way we call it experience.
Jump in with both feet. Then sink or swim baby.

If I had to put money on it would use 4 low and put it in drive... let the tranny shift as it feels the need. In low range you shouldn't have a problem with bogging out. It might be time for a gear swap.

Thanks for the hints guys. I'll do some trial and error. I will not use drive in 4lo because my tranny shifts really hard when in 4lo. I'm not doing a gear swap becasue I'm only using the 33's at the pit and swapping back on the 31's when i go home. I'll let the gear reduction of teh transfer case do the work for me.

I would not worry about the extra size, 31 to 33 is not that big of a change. The traction difference between an A/T and a Super Swamper is the problem. I would use 4lo and the trans in D, letting it do the work for you.
