Don't think it that tough. You should have the same axle as the rest so it's just a matter of pulling the old one and installing a new one.

You may need a bearing puller (slide hammer, etc) for the old one and a socket that is real close to the size of the new (to hammer it in) to install it.

Thanks for the reply. What kind of rear end is it? It says on the door jam '16'. I need step by step instructions. I promise this board, that if given, I will be forever loyal.:+

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Aug-02 AT 11:28 PM (EST)]I am going to be gone for few days so if I don't answer your ? this time it might be a few days before you get another answer from me. With that said. You said your doorpost says "16, that sounds like rim size, which is irrelevant to changing a wheel bearing. You should be able to go to a parts store and tell them that you need to replace a rear axle bearing on your '97 and they will find it.

Now I'm curious. Why do you need to replace the bearing?

To change the bearing it is a matter of removing the rear differential cover, pulling the c clip from the axle (located inside the differential and on the axle shaft). Sliding the axle out of the axle housing. Removing the old bearing via any means necessary and then pounding (gently) the new one in. Reinstall the axle shaft and c clip. Install the cover using very good silicone and refill with the correct weight and amount of axle oil for your diff.
