wheel-bearing lock-nut headache

how can i get my lock-nut off ? i have an 88 range 4wdrive and my wheel bearings need tightened or replace but theres this little key on the lock-nut and i dont know how to get it out
any ideas thanks

buy the socket or use a cold chisel and a hammer

If you plan on getting it put back together properly, you better get the socket. One of them goes on at 150 foot pounds for the 1988 Ranger/Bronco II.
