There seems to be hundreds of threads here asking that question. There is one just 10 posts below this one.

FYI- Forum help can be found in the "MISC/SUPPORT" menu.

Sometimes instead of sending a guy somewhere else it might be easer to just answer the question.

Tim you know that those wrong place posts just draw others like flies, It is happening all over the site. Just look at the user gallery forum and others...

This place is going to the dogs without a little housekeeping, might as well just lump ALL the forums into one great big unholy GC mess...

You don't put all of your race cart parts in a big pile of crap on the floor do you???

Got to go for the weekend, try to tidy up the place a little while I am gone.

Well... at one point there were complaints of too much house-cleaning. For instance, a 360FE V8 engine post in the 1967-1972 section would often get moved when it fit just as well in the 67-72 section as well as the engine section.

We don't get complaints these days about a level of over-moderation, though some former mods do complain about a perceived lack of moderation. Can't please everyone.

Sometimes "Suggesting a thought" instead of just answered encourages that person think about other ways to do things.......

ie:Teaching Fishing and eating.

Fyi. A re-direction Isn't considered an Offensive thing.....by everyone... I would suggest only a couple of people think that

I am still working on a : Navigating FTE the common sense type way article for FTE people to read.

Eric is right in his observation and others agree..though they don't let it be known to FTE admin or moderators. Only certain type people speak up.

Of course.. Just because one thinks he is right.....doesn't mean it is so by others.

Know what I mean ?

Plenty of us believe the adage .

"A place for everything and everything in its place" is best.

at least that's what some elder FTE members think.

and I'm sure you will respect us for knowing this as ...we've been there before you

It seems we get caught in the "Change Things" like attitude without notification to people who have lived the site a particular way for years.

Communication to the masses is most Important.

But Organized confusion is worse than "Greatly organized"

That was one of FTE's greatest assets years ago.

thought:
Wal-mart sells practically everything.

What's better ?

When wanting to buy something like Unique tires....going to Wal-Mart or a specialty tire shop.

IMO, it's better to maintain a High moderation level for the tech forums.

The forums ? Please the people who do most of the helping !

If you have the answer to a question. Answer it, and then point them in the right direction. When people read it they won't ask in the wrong area, or they will not repost in another area, and add to the server overload. JMHO

To stumpbuster.

Certain priviledges show up for you the longer you interact and post on FTE.

It's like: wait until you become part of the family before you get all the goodies.

This philosophy helps encourage people to stick around and make contribution to the site to make it even better.

Instead of giving everything to people with a Hit and Run attitude and end up using up valuable resources for people that stay.
