Transfer case first? Or tranny/transfer at the same time?

I'm about to drop my transmission and I'm wondering is it easier to take off the transfer case, then drop the tranny? Or leave them together and drop them as one piece?

Any other tips or suggestions to make this project go a little more smoothly with as little cussing and bleeding as possible, will be greatly appreciated.

When i went to go see my transmission right before it got reinstalled they had the transfercase and transmission bolted together to go in as a unit. Heavier but easier i bet.

Yeah, I think I am going to drop them as one unit. It will be a lot easier to take off the transfer case with the whole thing on the ground.

I also find it easiest to drop them together as a unit. Have done it separate too, but if you have the right equipment and/or muscle leaving them together is the way to go.
