98 anti locks
Hello I have never had to post here on this forum before I am a diesel guy but my wife has a 98 exp and has been having some brake problems,about 3 months ago she was stopping at a stop sighn and the brakes went to the floor,she told me ,I tried to get it to do it for me and it wouldnt do it? but one day it did,the anti lock light came on so I took it back to the scamming used dealer i got it from all they did was unplug the anti lock computer now it is making some kinda klicking noise and the brakes are pulsing? any Ideas on what this could be brakes are fairly new when we got the truck 6 months ago thanks

I have a 97 and I think that these are very close to each other in design. But from what I understand, the anti-lock braking system has several sensors; two in the front and one in the rear pumpkin. I have heard that the one in the rear can cause problems, very similar to what you are describing. I have the same or very similar problems, my wife also has complained of the fading brake syndrome that I cannot replicate. She has also complained of the brakes feeling like they are locked up and the vehicle will not stop. Weird stuff; but I also have unplugged the anti lock computer to temporarily side track the problem. But as for the pulsing brakes; I would bet your rotors are warped especially if they were turned at the last brake job. For the money anymore I just replace the rotors with new if they need turned. The last 3 brake jobs Ive done for my vehicles and had the rotors turned ended up with new rotors shortly afterwards anyway.
