Is there a seal/schrader valve kit for those bottom fuel filter cups?

Is there a seal/schrader valve kit for those bottom fuel filter cups?

I picked up a fuel filter called "luberfiner, it was $25 and had a quality look about it" and it looked just like the old 2 piece stock one, but the one that was installed on my truck turned out to be a baldwin one piece filter without the bottom filter cup so I had to reinstall the "rusty as hell in the inside" baldwin one until I got that bottom cup!

Well the first one I got was used, filthy and the schrader valve leaked even with no fuel pressure, so again, the rusty baldwin went back on again.

This time I found one that looked clean on the inside so we will see.

Tehy have a schrader style valve, but it's only larger, a brass drain valve with a seal under the brass cap, and a seal under the sensor.

I'm on a real tight budget right now so if a hard part can be had at the local wreckers, it is and I'd be willing to bet that silly little filter cup is pricey.

Does the one you have leak?

That valve lets air into the filter to break the vacuum when you drain it.

are you talking about the schrader valve on the top of the filter housing that bleeds the filter or the water separator valve that screws on to the bottom of an two piece filter type??? if it's the latter, you can disassemble the housing and unscrew the apparatus and replace the washer with a similar sized water faucet rubber washer. had to do that to mine to stop the leak.

So yes, the bottom.

That's one small gasket/washer and I would love to see the tiny little water fawcet a washer of that size, came out of.

The first one did and the second has yet to be installed, and both are used.

And if it fails to seal, it also lets out fuel.
But I want to put new ones on them all so I will not develop a leak while driving a month from now.

it's actually not as small as you think. and it is a standard faucet washer that you can get at the hardware store. that's where i found mine. i did however take the old one in that was galled and allowing a leak to occur so i could match it.

I saw nothing there about rebuilding or replacing the bottom filter cap seals.
Good info though.

I had the same thing give me problems. You might want to try a Wix 33417. What you have now is a 33217. The difference is no water in fuel sensor. It does have a drain. The Wix website has pictures. I'm sure the Wix numbers will cross to whatever you prefer. Another thought anyway, the cost of the filter was about the same......... Don
