Spare Tire Lock!!!

When you have a flat tire, it never fails. It's (1 raining (2 the middle of the night (3 you're all dressed up (4 drunk as a skunk (5 possibly all of the above!

I know that when I bought my truck back in Feb, the spare tire lock was in the glove box. I showed it to my wife and explained that if it was EVER used, that lock had to be returned to the glove box or there'd be hell to pay at the next flat tire. Having had locking lugnuts on wheels before, she understood the issue.

The question is, have YOU looked at your spare tire? My 92 F150 is pretty simple, insert the rod and start cranking to lower the tire...there no lock. The 03 F250 has the lock on it. If you haven't looked (yeah right!) you might just want to double check while it's still light and nice (ok damn hot isn't nice but it's not raining!) outside BEFORE the next flat tire happens!

I had a co-worker of mine ask me to check the replacement cost for her lock while I was at the dealership. They said @ $25 BUT you have to bring the truck in to let us see which lock is installed. The VIN won't help because they are randomly installed...you have to take the truck in and let them see the lock.

Just trying to help!

Joe

I though a Chev.. Vet was the only vehicle to have a lock on it that seized and you could not get off!
I forgot the Isuzu Trooper I had came with a lock and I had to use the universal lock pick on that lock! Sooo rusted the key would not go in the lock!

I got to use mine for the first time this morning at 7 went out to find a nice big screw in the right front, the f250 looked funny running a 235 wide tire when the others are 305s
girlfriend got a good laugh out of it
