Wow. Same story here. My 2005 EX did this for the first time today. I let it sit for 25 mins still no joy. Then I tried the fob thing and started it, and it was still off. I hit AUTO, still nothing. Then i pushed OFF and then AUTO, and it came back on.

I'll try the headlight thing if it happens again.

I've starting having this problem with my 2001 V10. Start the engine and the AC just blows warm air at me when on Max AC. Bought a can of R134a as I thought it was low on refrigerant. Hooked the nozzle to the system and the gauge was at full pressure, which means it's not a lack of refrigerant thats causing it. Then while I'm driving I suddenly get about 5 mins of ice cold AC before it reverts back to warm.

I need this fixing as the hot, sticky weather is already here in Virginia Beach.

Now...second...it will start to get cold and then like for no reason just start getting warm for a bit then go back to cold. I thought this was low r-134a so I tried to add some and its full.

Please dont tell me its like my Taurus...the f-in blend door.....what do you all think? thanks!

I've had this thing happen a couple of times since. As someone else said, it has something to (at least mine does) with the "automatic" setting on the headlights. Turn your headlights to the actual off position, start your truck, and then try to turn on your AC. This fixes mine each time my digital AC control is "dark".

I hope this helps!!

John if it happens again try removing the battery terminal wire(+) and wait about 5 minutes. this usually resets the electrical system. Many times if your battery goes dead (really dead) you will lose your dash gauges, just disconnect and then reconnect after 5 and the system should come back. IT works, good luck!!

The EATC modules can be sensitive to the supply (battery) voltage. If the power supply it was getting was a bit wobbly, the EATC may simply have failed in its power-up initialization cycle.

try removing the battery terminal wire(+)
No.

Always remove the NEGATIVE cable first and connect it last. If one doesn't know the reason for this sequence, they shouldn't be offering advice about it.

Yes that is correct, i was implying that you have to remove the positive cable also. Sorry if it came across the wrong way
