Is the standard oil analysis test from blackstone enough information to see what is happening inside the beast or should I get some of the optional tests done?
The standard test will give you all the information that you need to make sure the critter is working OK. The optional tests are good if you are looking to go longer between oil changes.
The problem with extended oil change intervals in the 6.0 is that the engine tends to shear the oil from a 40 weight to a 30 weight or thinner over time. I don't know if the process stabilizes eventually but personally I don't want to take the chance of blowing a $15,000 engine to save a few hundred bucks over the lifetime of the engine.
Yeah Trevor, I bought mine used too. Thats why this first Blackstone was so important....to verify the OASIS report. Mine came back good so I'm breathing a whole lot easier now.

I'm with you BB. I've never understood why some spend major $$$ on a vehicle and then cut corners on maintenance, parts, and fluids.
