If he had some F-140 badges to go along with his story it might be more convincing.I saw the other picture. Might have been a real nice chop job 25 years ago.
Good luck. I have also emailed him twice and got no responce. Like I said before he is just trying to take advantage of someone not knowing any better.

Dear Jeff, Had that truck been special ordered it would have a 6 digit special DSO number where the present numbers 73 are located.
DSO 73 just means it went to a dealership in Salt Lake City somewhere.
Your ad stated a model of an F-140 which there isn't any such thing.
The only F140 info on that truck is the body GVWR code for the truck handling 6050 lbs.
That's it.
I have a 1978 Ford Truck brochure and there isn't any mention of a convertible version of a REG Cab F150 4x4.
The Frame would have to be massive for that application.
