Going to NH, fuel tips?

OK, this weekend I will be taking the rig to NH. Here is my proposed route.

Questions are as follows: Is there any construction I need to know about?

What states do I need to avoid fueling in due to price and where is the best place to get it along the interstate? Thanks for your time. Seems like minor stuff but as we all know another 50 miles can save as much as $50 on a fillup in a bum state and station. I figure I will fuel up twice or maybe 3 times depending on what's out there.

The last time I made this run was in 02 when my dad died and I found a huge variation in prices, especially the farther north I went. Not to mention the whiteout in PA and NY state. Thanks in advance.

I can not help you out with the other states but I know that just after you get on Rt 90 eastbound from Rt 84 in MA there is a service station. Keep in mind that this is a toll highway so the price may be close to $3 or a little higher.

As for Rt 495 there are multiple stations off of the highway but no combined service/rest areas. These could be in the $2.90ish range but I am not really sure.

There is no construction going on for Rt 90 east/westbound and for Rt 495 east/westbound, I do not think that there is any going on.

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM if you need anything specific while you are in MA. I live only 20 minutes from Rt 495 and Rt 90 junction.

Hey thanks dirty. It has been my experience that Ma is not the place to fuel up, but this is the info I'm looking for. Thanks for the response.

Hey that is basically how far i went from here to BTS, give or take a few miles. Do you plan to stop by my house? The closest point i am to route 81 is in Greencastle PA. If you wanted to meet up there, or spend the night because you would probably be 2/3 of the way there, if you didnt want to make it in one stint.

I am still checking out the route Kris. Not even sure of my departure date and time. Have a few things to tend to. I appreciate the offer, and I will let you know soonest.

Wasn't trying to start anything, I am genuinely asking. Folks along the way know where good fuel is at a good price. I drive 15 miles to the Flying J to get mine locally and it is about $2.70-75 around here. So those MA prices don't really look that bad.

Hey, thanks for everyone's responses and PMs. Gotta love this place. I have decided to leave Friday morning in the AM. After some discussion with the boss, she does not want to prolong the trip so it will be a straight through drive, stops for fuel and bodily functions. No big deal, I drive 12 hours a day at work answering calls so it will be a a holiday for me. No dispatcher.

I will be taking the laptop, tools, 2 CPs's, etc etc along with my roadside help network sheet.

Again, thanks for the help and thanks for the offer Kris. Maybe on the way back but from previous experience, we drive even more of a beeline then. Oh, and I no longer have a nextel. I lost my cellphone in a foot pursuit of a burglar in the projects. Yeah I caught him (100% succes rate there) but couldn't find the phone. I notified those turds to disable the phone and they charged me $5 for that "service". I ported it to verizon.

Regards.
Mike

Oh, cool. Sounds like you got the plan, can't change it if the boss has laid down her foot.

I don't know if you have the same number, PM it to me one day and i'll compare to what i have. Let me know if you do want to stop. Let me know if anything goes wrong while youre on the road. You watched out for me i'll certainly return the favor.
