<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->You ever have someone that you thought was your friend just do a reverse on you? F1n tranny shop owner. You all may have followed my tranny pain in the ford-trucks forum but here is the short version.
1 stock tranny lasted 301k miles. Great it just didnt work the next morning.
2nd tranny popped in Kansas at approx 40k miles later and lost all gears up north of Phoenix on a downhill grade ( not fun and towed). Warranty excuse was too much towing and old part meshed with new? (yeah whatever ok)
Suggested the towing black box 100 bucks
3rd tranny with black box....popped at about 60k miles
I did the following favors of picking up a Quad for his wifes birthday and a small trailer. OUT OF MY WAY PLUS FUEL.
He gave me a used tranny and a used torque converter just to keep me on the road. In the mean time I had my aftermarket TC sent in for check came back with no issues and my NAME written all over it. He said he would store it for me. In the mean time I dropped the tranny to put the new(used one) in and found that the black box was melted with wires. He told me they had problems with that and no longer sell them. I now had an issue to put back in a potentially dmgd tranny in or a good used one. ARGGGGGGGGGGG
Long story short, garbage I bought (100 bucks) and now he cant find my 900 TC and want to give me a used one. Ive just been bent over for 1k and my wife could not believe the look on my face or how mad I was. I cant believe how long it has been since Ive been this fin Mad. Like Im a 16 year old again. Maybe my truck will get stolen and theyll replace it with a 4X4.

Very sorry to hear of your misfortune, Troy.
It's one of the reasons that I fix cars for a living. I want absolute control over what happens to my vehicles and the only way to get it done right is to do it yourself.
