Cylinder Misfire?

OK here goes. When I first got my 1988 351w E250, I noticed that occasionally the van would feel like the fuel flow was being interrupted or a cylynder wasnt firing. I gave it a tune up and it does it less frequently but still does it sometimes. When it happens it only last's for about 10-15 seconds. It's that running out of gas feeling. after the tune up I have no idea where to check next. The fuel pump is either on or off right? It wouldnt just sometimes kick off would it?
Thanks

Cylinder Misfire?

Could be a number of things....could be water in the fuel or the coil or distributor not firing...I used to have that happen to me even after I installed an MSD 6A ignition..I would be idling and the truck would act like it wanted to die and sometimes it even would...only momentarily, but it was still bothersome...I finally got fed up and replaced my Motorcrap distributor and wires with MSD and haven't had the problem since. In my opinion, the problem was in the distributor and specifically an issue with either the magnetic pickup or the cap and rotor assembly.
