Cool 08 F250 6.4

I mentioned a few weeks ago about getting the new 6.4 here at work, After driving for a couple of weeks now Ive made my decision (I might change later).
The truck rides fine, like a 250!
Issues are power! The truck runs OK but dosent have the Grunt of my 00 or my brothers 04. After reading this months diesel power I know why! Stock h.p 292, torque 286! this is like a gas burner!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even chiped the torque #s are less than H.P #s. These are not diesel #s, they (Govt) have ruined the new diesel trucks! I guess we will have to see what happens next, its no longer worth the extra $$ to purchase a diesel truck! I will be keeping my 00 for many years to come.
My rant and rave for the day!
Rich

Red face

I thought that looked funny, I didnt think to check the valve cover of the 08 truck, it has 350 HP and 650lb torque @3000 RPM. The Mag I thought was the BIBLE has a missprint.
The #s in the magazine for the 08
are,
292 hp 286 torque at the rear wheels.
Sorry! I got all worked up over a missprint!
But, the truck still dosent feel like it has the power of my 00!

everything I have read/been told has the specs closer to 600. I hope that is a misprint, but if its not, I am gonna to to my buddy who works at a stealer and call "shenanigans!"

Don't the 6.4's have a break in period set into the computer, so it kinda lags the first 1000 miles or so? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere....

When the 08's came out I went by to have a look. the salesman were like "time to trade in that old bitty for some real power!" so i asked the turd what he drove.... Camry was his answer. so then I asked him if he knew what my "old bitty" could tow.... turd had no idea "but the 08 is newer & stronger!" - "but you don't even know what i use my truck for, or do you?" - turd's answer - "whatever it is, the 08 will do it better" - so i told him to go have his lunch of Saltines, since if he was going to be a stupid parrot he should eat like one.

my buddy said the 6.4 is getting about 1/2 the mileage i get... hmmmm... paid for with 17-19mpg highway, or take out a $40k+ loan for 10-12mpg... and an OOOGLY front end... to those those like 'em, good on ya - for me, Nyx will be my girl for many many years - if i need a newer one, i'll hunt down an '06 or '07 6.0 dually

Mega Dittos man. I feel exactly the same way. When the time comes for another, I'll look for an 06-07 6.0 in good shape just.

The only reason I say it is because I know if there is a 99-03 7.3 out there is good shape, when the time FINALLY gets here, it wouldn't be for sale or it'll be way more than a new one, .

most people have misconceptions about car or truck salesmen, most have no idea of what they are selling they just want to sell something
the day or week before they may have been selling shoes or ladies undies
