I need some Dodge -- Ford transplant knowledge.I know late 70's volare or aspen front ends swap into a 56 Ford, but what other models of Dodge/Plymouth will?I ask because they are getting hard to find and I have a line on a 78 Diplomat-will this work? Thanks again

I believe the Diplomat/5th Ave front suspension is the same as the Volare.

Changed my mind and bought a mustang II and a 4-link for the rear.Anyone need stock 56 suspension and running gear before I end up tossing it out?

The Volare front suspension was used in the Caravelles, Diplomats, 5th Ave's, Lebarons with V8's up til 87. So there are lots of them still around.
Good on you for finding a Mustang II suspesion. Those are harder to find. The new mustangs now come with a similar suspension as the mopar. You can drop the whole suspension and motor from below now. I see these getting to be in use in the near future for our rodding projects.

Did you go with a weld in crossmember ie) Fat Man, or are you doing a full subframe swap?

Went with a TCI weld in complete unit.Fairly reasonable and delivered to my door with the 4 link setup.Decided you cannot build a nice truck with a poor foundation(chassis). This way it will be good for man years to come.Just need to find a bodyman who is feeling generous.HAHA
