Exhaust leak at turbo?

I just finished re-installing my turbo after installing a new waste gate actuator. I started the engine to get the rod on the exhaust back-preasure to move into position so it could be attached, it hardly moved. Any hints on that would make my day, but my real question is that I am seeing a little smoke in the area under the turbo. I never looked before but this does not seem right. The V-clamps were set to 110 lbs/in of torque.

How long did it smoke? It wasn't burning off wd-40 or anthing from when u sprayed it taking it apart was it? Man i hope u don't have to pull that back off.. i just put my turbo on today after rebuilding my turbo and deleting the EBPV using the larger outlet and got the pleasure of trying to put that up pipe clamp on. My jack handle ended up MIA from me tossing it in the woods after i droped the T bolt for the clamp and couldnt find it.

That is a good point. It has only run about 5 min. I agree with you 100%. I have way too many hours in this project as it is now, and I need the truck next week. Any hints on reconnecting the exhaust back-pressure rod? Or maybe you pulled that off yours?

I found it easer to set the rod into the link as I was putting the turbo back on the pedestal..

I didn't put that back on. I bought the larger housing that does not have the valve in it and i pluged the pedestal where the rod was and unplugged the control wire for it.
