source for plastic pads between leafs of leaf spring

I pulled apart the leaf springs on my 85 2WD F150. There are white plastic spacers between the leaves. Can these be replaced? Source?

Yes they can, just go buy a "semi clear" soft plastic spray bottle and cut out some pieces, but when you cut them you need them long enough to be folded in half so lets say it the are 2 inches cut them to 4 inches the fold them and insert them.

I went to a place in Spokane, WA called Pohl Springs. They had a ton in stock at .25 cents each about 2 years ago. You might check around for a similar spring manufacturer in your area.

I use stuff that comes in rolls that goes the full length of the springs. There's a shop local to me that sells street rod parts and they sell it by the roll and by the foot. I know you can also buy the stuff out of hotrod and street rod catalogs.

It really does make the ride smoother and really helps cut down on spring squeak and rub.

The thread subject sort of caught my eye.

Maybe a little but along the same lines of thought ... I'd really like to find something like this that I can slip over the ends of my overloads.

When pulling my fifth wheel I'm just heavy enough that the overloads hit the frame pads only on the tarred cracks/seams, etc.. Most annoying. A spacer would keep the springs in contact with the frame pads and MAYBE keep the whole rear suspension a little quieter on a somewhat rough highway.

Ford sells them and has for years = wax coated anti-squeek inserts. NAPA also sells them.

to the overload question-

the frame pads are supposed to have a rubber pad on them. The slit in them is for the retainer nub to go through and hold it all together. See if Ford still makes them, if not bolt a piece of heavy rubber to the pad to cut down on the impact.

I found stock replacements at big city spring shop. Black with two buttons to clip into holes in spring and the white bottom pad with a single hole for the C bolt. $1.oo for black ones and $1.25 for white ones. $1.07 each for the c bolts. $.79 for the KK9 clamps that hold leaves together.

All I got was dumb looks from lacal auto parts stores and Ford dealer. It's nice to make a phone call and have someone know what your talking about. $18.00 for the parts and $24.00 for the gas to pick them up.
