lock hub replacement

I aquired a set of used lock hubs for my 77 F150 Ranger.because my passenger side is broke and always stays locked in. I am wondering if I need to change all of the parts, or can I just change the caps.

depends on whats broken. do they make a rebuild kit for those?

I think just the outer cap because the center turns 360. the used one only turns 45. I dont know of a rebuild kit.

in most cases yes youcan just cange the outer parts

I had to replace mine too. (I have a 73/77 Frankenford) They wouldn't engage and usually when I was up in the mountains fetching firewood in the dead of winter. I picked up a replacement set of Mile Markers at Checker for around 70 bucks. The pax side was a bear to remove because of rust inside the hub. Used an air chisel, and modified gear puller to get it out. And a lot of scraping with a pick. No kidding, it probably took a couple hours to get the pax side out. Drivers side popped right out like nothing. Less than 5 minutes. And both back in in about another 5. Works beautimusly now.
