ID C6 dipstick

ID C6 dipstick

I have a dipstick and tube that I am trying to ID. It is from a Ford C6 possibly a 390. the dipstick casting number is C6AP-7A020-D. I thought it might be from a 390 pick-up truck.

Ford car and truck parts catalogs prior to 1973 do not list stamping numbers on transmission dipsticks. C6AP is 1966, but what transmission? I can't tell you, sorry. There are three C6 prefix possibilities. One is a COM, one is a C4, the other is a C6.

C6AZ-7A020-A .. Dipstick = C6 1968/72 ~ F100/350 ~ 360/390

C6AZ-7A020-B .. Dipstick = C4 1966/68 ~ F100/250 ~ 240/300/302 (302-F100 only)

C6AZ-7A020-C .. Dipstick = COM 1966/67 ~ F100/350 ~ 352

thanks for your response. I couldn't find anything in any of my Ford Master Parts Cross reference catalogs either. Maybe someone can do a photo ID:

Ford Part number for matching tube

Hi Numberdummy,

would you happen to have the part number for the matching oil filler tube that goes with this application:

C6AZ-7A020-A .. Dipstick = C6 1968/72 ~ F100/350 ~ 360/390?
