5.4 Supercharger 2001 Supercrew
I have a 2001 Supercrew with 74,000 miles on it. I just bought an Eaton supercharger from a friend that was off of a 2000 Ford Lightning. He sold the truck but the M112 supercharger had about 17,000 miles on it. I only have the supercharger and the bypass pulley.
What other parts do I need to fit this to my truck? Will the computer have to be reprogrammed? I have a superchip installed now, will it have to be re-flashed or can I simply pull it out?
Are the SVT truck engines different in any other way (heads, crank, rods, etc) than my truck (obviously with the exception of a supercharger).
Should I install a cat-back system or FIPK? It would seem that an FIPK would draw hot air from the engine compartment and would not be good and since the cat-back is behind the catalytic converter, it would not make much difference.
Any help anyone can give on what items I need to complete this install would be greatly appreciated.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Jan-03 AT 11:56 AM (EST)]I don't think I can answer all of your questions, but I can cover a few. The Lightning motor has 8.5:1 compression, and the regular 5.4's are higher. I would say go with a good aftermarket exhaust and some sort of open element air filter if you can afford both. If you do just intake, the engine will not be able to exhale as efficiently as it inhales, and vice versa. I'm not very familiar with the setup of the new engines, so I can't help with fitment issues. Good luck, and I hope this helps a little.
Edit: I would try to find a lightning in a junk yard or something, so you can get any parts that might be different from a regular 5.4. I think there's an intercooler on the lightning too, along with other parts specific to the supercharger.
