F250 muffler upgrade

I have an 03 F250 CC, SB, 7.3 PSD. Has anyone replaced the stock muffler with a 3.5" Magnaflow 12909 ??
The local muffler shop suggested this muffler for less back pressure, but they cannot tell me what it will sound like in the cab. I want the same peace and quiet as I have now with the stock unit when driving on the interstate and pullying my 5th wheel. The 12909 is stainless steel and fits similar to the stock muffler.

I am pretty sure that the magnaflow will drone but I have heard that Walker big truck mufflers are quiet, aeromotive also, but thats pretty much all I know.

I have a 3.5 in flo-pro. Gives a hint of a whistle on the outside and zero change inside the cab.

Lynn I know what you mean about the noise Installed a BTM on mine and its a nice on step above stock sound. I like the muffer alot just wish it had an 4in inlet and outlet. That way I could keep the quiet muffler and install my 4in turbo back exhaust

Check out the walker web site for other truck mufflers. www.walkerheavyduty.com The part no. 21471 and 22965 will fit on a 4" system. Then do a search on the web using walker and the part no. and find out who sells it. How did your truck sound in the cab (windows up) with the Walker BTM and the 3.5" stock pipe? I am considering the Flow Pro FP-729 because it is a direct replacement.

I also have a straight pipe, no noise in the cab, actually quieter than most after market mufflers, they are designed to give you a certain throaty tone. The 7.3 is very quiet with a straight pipe, just a little whistle.

thanks for the info Lynn the truck sounds good with the windows up. All you hear is a whistle and a slight rumble thats it. With the windows down awww man all you hear is the whistle i just hop e the 4in system doesn't take any of the whistle away lol hope it increases it
