Talked to a new 6.4 owner yesterday......

This guy was pulling a nice big 5er, so at the full pump I asked him how he liked it and he said he hated it. He told me it sucks on fuel milage the way the power came on is horible and he wishes he still had his 7.3 yet. Does the 6.4 with twins lack on pulling power or was he blowing smoke. When he told me he wishes he had his 7.3 yet over the 6.4, well I didn't know what to think. He said you would never be able to mod it, he said with a Banks kit and any kind or chip, that it would screw with the emisions and junk, me I didn't say anything. I don't know anything about the 6.4 to open my mouth.

You would think that 6.4 would out pull our old 7.3 workhorse. Are the 7.3 that great that someone with the new 6.4 would want his old 7.3 back? I just had to share this with you guys..

Long live the 7.3

Sounds like he misses the paid off rig. That makes me feel real good about mine. PMRs and all.

I wonder if he got a lemon, or just was expecting too much, or is a mod fiend.

Ya Joh is right. I own a 6.4 as well as a OBS 7.3 and I wouldn't trade either of them for the world. My 6.4 pulls my horse trailer like a dream. And as John said they're already modding these trucks. Superchipsmike has already put out his tuner with tunes for the 250 and 350. Expect 75hp increase for now. Boost numbers are to be seen around 60psi. Guys have already ditched the Dpf and cat combo without looking back. This guy you talked to probably has to much truck for himself and he's probably right, he should've kept his 7.3, especially if he is gonna bash the new rides. lol. My rant for the night

Talking about restrictions, thats the first thing I noticed on our 6.4 work truck, Everything looks VERY restrictive! Intercooler, turbo inlet outlet, alot of upgrades could be done to this thing just to make it BREATH!

Its got some presidential tint on it right now. A set of air bags and a B&W gooser hitch. Im waiting to go down to Spicewood to mod it at Rubberducks crib. The waiting is killing me, lol. I know Superchips Mike has a Comp out for the 250 and 350's but no 450 yet. Hopefully he can put the 450 where the 350's are HP and Trg. wise. We'll see tho

Well Ill bring this up again, since dealerships dont even seem to be telling the customers. From what Ive been reading, and hearing these trucks arent at full power till they break in, I heard someone calling it a "breakoff chip" there de-tuned untill a certain amount of miles, or untill the truck loosens up a bit or something. Some people have been feeling the power come full on around 8k or so. But I guess it vary's. Im still trying to find out more about this, but I cant seem to find much info.
