Price of a used 360

Im looking at a 76 f150 4x4 4 speed granny with the 1 speed transfer case, d44 up front, 9inch in rear.. with a 360 big block it runs but needs new headers and a small skip in the engine which could be plugs and wires not sure i havent looked that closely into it and the owner is a kid that knows nothing about ford trucks but wants 2 grand for the truck and wont take less. I want a 70-79 to build up a nice pullling truck which i will swap a 460 into, if i paid the 2 grand for this one how much could i sell the 360 for with headers, intake and edelbrock 4b carb. This is the truck, I know its not worth over a grand but I cant find any 70-79 in good shape in NY at least somewheres where its worth the time and gas money... by the time i find a good one with the gas money spent i could`ve bought this one and fixed it up... truck needs new doors but the frame/fenders/hood/cab is rust free... What do you guys think the motor is worth? I could possible get a spare 360 with it as well. Do they sell good? Whould any of you want to buy 1 or both?

Remove the intake and carb, then check prices of scrap iron, that's about what it's worth.
also a 76 F150 should have a 2 speed transfer case so it's been butchered with old F100 parts. $2000 is way too much for a rusty wankered up truck. spend a little extra and get a better platform for a build.

It would go for about $150 around here (Indiana) as well.

ebay the carb and edelbrock intake , a good performer intake gets $100-150 on average . carb depends on size model . check out the carb some are worth some good money .
used 360won't fetch much , measure stroke it could be a 390 or ? then you got something worth some $$

$3-400.00 is about all that will bring. Wanting is one thing, getting is another.

Move on to another project. Take your time, rushing can cost you big time.

Being as the only difference between the 360/ truck 390 is a crank and rods and they arent rare I doubt its going to make much difference. Now if its a 428.....

to the OP, I thought you had made up your mind to pass on this truck over in the 73-79 forum?
