I would like to be a harda$$ and say it's not growing on me, but the dual pipes in front of the rear tire are pretty sweet, and the fact that the step is gone. I still wouldn't smooth the bed sides, but mine has the stake pockets filled in and looks good, still hate the wing, wonder what it would look like in grabber green, or daytona yellow. them buckets look good too.
You know, I have to agree - I really like the exhaust treatment too. It is something that I had not thought about before, but it does look very good tucked up in that space.
I'm not a big fan of wheels this size, much too trendy for the overall style. In my opinion, it would look better if it lost a couple inches of overall wheel diameter and they showed a little more tire with a lot less rim. A slight forward rake would fit with the stronger stance a better proportioned tire/rim mix would produce. Otherwise, looks great.
A pair of small diameter (approx 1") LED stop lights would look good frenched into the curls found at the end of the box's top rails. Are you thinking tonneau cover or open bed ?
I really liked the way the grill and bumper pan rolled in. A subtle hood scoop or even louvers would enhance the front end. I wouldn't alter the head or signal lights, as they help define the character of the '80's flareside. The blue-matt black paint combination works real sweet too.
Looking forward to seeing the rear view. Then I hope you build it !
I like it do you plan on keeping it steel or going with fiberglass(doors, fenders, hood). For autocross I think a twin turbo 302 would be the way to go just for the weight saving and the cost of a 460 to turn a high rpm would most likely cost double or more then doing it with the boss 302,but if money is no object and no weight concerns the big ol 460 would be cool.
You know I noticed that the bed looks fairly standard but the side of the cab has been smoothed. I didn't notice it a first but then I thought the reflection was too low compared to the bed line.
I still think it is sharp and can't wait for the other angles.
My instructions were (and some truest may slander my name for it) to fill in the indention that runs horizontally through the front fender and door and smooth it out. Not so for the bed since the only indention is the one running along the entire truck at the bottom and changing that I think really alters the identification of the truck.
Ya, it's killing me waiting for this other image. In the mean time I've been calling around and planning more. Trying to keep my mind occupied.
Ok - I like the fact that you didn't smooth the tailgate and left the F O R D promently displayed. I do note that the latches are hidden though, ane that cleans things up nicely.
I also like the smoothed in rear bumper, and like the front it retains enough of the origional Ford shape.
I do like it that you left in the lower lines. The flattened fender openings are one of the things that I really like about the 80-86 trucks.
The wing looks better than I thought it would from this angle. In fact it looks great! Nice rendering!
I am suprised at how much I like these renderings that you have come up with. Most of the time I like my trucks stock, right down to the wheels (not hubcaps, factory sport rims only please), but this is nice !! Just my thoughts - David
