I was surprised to learn from the article Chet posted that most for most cams there were just two companies that produced the blanks all the cam grinders use. They all seem to have the same quality control, with the only difference between the companies being the profile they grind to.

Crane is an industry leader, and has lots of grinds available out of stock, and will custom grind any profile you want. I don't think you could go too far wrong with Crane parts. But there are others likely just as good - what you do want to avoid is the off-shore cams as they might have poor steel or other quality control problems.
