Four Wheel Drive Solenoid?

I believe my four-wheel drive solenoid is bad. I can manually lock my wheels into four wheel drive, but the automatic switch won't lock them in. What is the technical name for this solenoid. I have the part#, but can't seem to find this part by just the part# alone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the vacuum solenoid? The system I am familiar with uses that to open a vacuum supply to the hubs which locks them. The solenoid is located on the passenger fender wall under the hood on mine.

I believe you are talking about the hublock solenoid. The P/N of the one I replaced was 6C3Z9H465 BA. I had to get it from Ford.

Ford told me the technical name was the Solenoid Vacuum Valve Assembly, they didn't give me a P/N though. I checked with AutoZone, Napa, and Advanced Auto Parts and they all told me that part was not available and I would have to go through Ford. They quoted me $51.45, does that sound about right?

Actually I don't know if it works or not yet. I got it to control the flow of coolant through the heater core and haven't tried it out yet. Don't know year of truck, just pulled the valve as it looked similar to mine.
