Did you read about Cleatus's Ball buster turbo upgrade? He loves it and his writeup gives me turbo envy.

Most folks I have heard from with the ATS tried the wicked wheel, then chose to put the stock wheel back in. The ATS should completely eliminate surge, based on accounts written here.

I was running the wicked wheel and the ATS together. IT was cool to listen to around town, and short drives. One trip from MD to Richmond VA, and i was sick of the obnoxious whistle at 3-4psi. I think that it would give anyone a headache. It gave me one, and i love to hear the turbo.

You have a banks 1.0 exhaust housing. I am talking about the ATS compressor housing. Running what you have now with an ATS housing will completely eliminate surge, but will be loud, especially when pulling a trailer for long distances. Swap a stock compressor wheel back with the ATS housing for more performance.

so it will work with the exhaust housing, i understand your talking about the intake housing kris. will there be any down side to doing this? and is the whistle just way way to loud? do you still get whistle with the ats? or shoud i just wait and buy the tn turbo for 1300 bucks when this one goes south

I would do that if i were you. I still get whistle with my turbo now. Less than what you have now, But it is a very different tone. The turbonetics is a very nice unit.

It will work fine, just keep in mind your just spending more money on the stock turbo, rated for 25# boost no matter what you add to it... I would save a few more pennys and sell your old turbo and get a TN unit... 0 surge, spools good, rated for over 40# boost, cheap to rebuild and a 1 yr replacement warranty!
