wtb 56 f100 drop axle

I'm the guy on E-bay selling the axles. Maybe this will help. I drop all the axles in a jig. I do not cut them apart or do any welding on them. They are factory forged steel axles I use. The new after markets are not forged steel. Some say forged steel fold shape and alignment better. The axles I do are original width or can be pulled in to narrow axle during drop if you would like. All axles king pins are resized if needed , Axle straightened if bent, reset to proper factory inclination, sandblasted and magnafluxed to check for cracks. It is $300 to drop your axle and $50 for a core if you don't have one. Speedway gets $399.95 for there tube axle. It's all up to what you like best. I like the old school look! Thanks Droppedaxles, I've seen your axles on ebay and even think I asked a question about them. My concern is shipping costs. I'm in CA, and to send my axle to you or return my axle as a core will cost me $50 or even more. That would put me at $350 for a dropped axle. Does the $300 include shipping? and do you require the tie rod adjuster for the dropped axle to work. Very interested in purchasing one of your dropped axles. BTW- The tube axle on speedway is the same as CPP and Mid Fifties sells for $419

Do more research before you buy one I got one from Midfifty, I ordered it while I was in Afghanisan so it will be home when I returned. I just got around to completing the install it went in very easy when I went to have my truck aligned they said the axle wasn't even it was off by more than a 1 1 1/2 inches, the tire are also bowed a little. I'm gonna get under the truck later this week to double check that it is the axle, I just go back to the original axle and use lowered spring but that is only about a 2" drop. I asked if anyone has used the drop axle but haven't gotten any responses.

The tires should lean in at the top (camber). Is it one of the axles with the round tubular center and machined ends? I find it difficult to believe it would be that different side to side, but if it is MF would definitely replace it for you. If it is in straight, I'd take your truck to a shop that aligns heavy trucks. They still use beam axles and they deal with them every day. The pimple faced kid at the local tire shop likely has never even seen a beam axle before much less aligned one.

Drop axle
I got a tube style with the cnc ends, the install went ok but when you put the king pins in with the new bushings make sure you use the proper tools to do it. If you just do one bushing at a time the chances of you getting the upper and lower bushings straight are slim. And that will cause the spindle to be off. I had a hard time finding the tools to do mine. King pins are a dying breed. If you did not have the tools just replace the bushings and do it again. I have not had mine aligned yet, I hope it is OK. I remember not too long ago, Joe Hoffman (member) and myself were doing the drop axle together. He ordered his from MF and had to return the axle because the one king pin hole was larger than the other and the king pins could not be installed. He got a new one but it took downtime on getting his truck together. I bought a used Mo drop original style and it was slightly bent on the driver's side. I went to a truck alignment place like AX spoke about and they tweaked it back, no problems. Find a good alignment guy that is old school and knows how to aligned the old straight axle suspensions.
