unknown error code

unknown error code

My code reader shows a code P0299 on my '05 6.0 SD, but I can't find that code in any listing. Anyone know what the code is?? cw

I got that code also. Ended up with a new turbo. I think it's a low/high boost for over 30 seconds?

Thanks guys, have had abnormally high boost when first starting out. Sometimes lasts a couple miles, sometimes more. Really sucks fuel when this happens. Heading for the dealer tommorow.. cw

Well, I guess that code means you get a new turbo, at least that's what my dealer says. Don't know just what it was for sure but that's the story. I'll learn more when I pick it up tomorrow. cw

Code P0299:
Turbo Underboost. Fault sets when the difference between EP and command EP exceeds the limit for >30 seconds.

This can be do to:
Faulty EP sensor,
VGT control valve slow to respond,
Stuck VGT valve,
Faulty PCM
