4.2L V-6 Hydrolocked and replaced
I was on here last year but can't find my posting looks like FTE cleaned up a bit. Any who... I have a 97 f150 with a 4.2 L in it. It hydrolocked on me back in 05. I had been driving it daily (no problems), parked it for a one week vacation. Upon my return I turned the key and to my shock heard a rod pull free and begin knocking. (I've heard it before in my old 69 Chevy) I parked it in the street in front of the house for almost a year. I finally got the $4000 needed to replace the motor. Yes $4000. I installed a Jasper with a 3 year 36000 mile warranty. The original had 126000 miles and was not salvageable as the rod had punched a hole through the bottom of the block just above the oil pan.
If you have had this problem (hydrolock) I suggest the replacement over a rebuild especially in older trucks. Think about it, what kind of warranty do you get with a rebuild kit? usually 90 to 180 days.
By the way I also have now had to rebuild my transmission @ 136000 miles.

I *think* this thread will give you a hint. I don't know how I got to it, and it is not on ford-trucks...
