Front pump seal
#2
You need to pull the tranny to replace the pump seal. By pump seal I believe you are talking about the round oil seal that is press-fit into the tranny pump and keeps the tranny fluid from leaking past the torque converter-to-pump mating surfaces. If this is the seal, you can carefully pry it out after pulling the torque converter. Place some gasket sealant around the outer metal mating suface of the new seal and carefully walk the new seal in place using a piece of wood and hammer. You need to do it in this way if you don't remove the pump from the tranny, since the input shaft is in the way. I can't recall if you can remove the input shaft on a C6 to make the seal installation easier, maybe someone else will chime-in and let you know. You should look at the sealing surface of your torque converter while you have it out. If it has a groove cut into where the pump seal was riding on it, you'll need to replace the torque convertor or it will leak again.
