will this tranny work? 4 speed inline 6 on a 302
I had this in the 79 thread but, maybe it will do better here. What i have is a 68 -69 302 and it has a 3/4 inch hole for the torque converter in the crank. Now what I wanna do is put a 4 speed from a 79 300 inline on it. I have the 300 bell housing which looks like the holes will line up from a rough look and comparision of it. The shaft on the 4 speed before/after the splines on the end is roughly 5/8 of an inch. Any problems with this working?
Thanks in advance everyone.

Crankshaft pilot bore diameter
A 3/4" hole in the end of the crank? Something's wrong here. The crankshaft pilot bore should be about 1.376" (35mm). The i.d. of the pilot bushing is about .670 (17mm) which is nominally the o.d. of the input shaft of the standard transmission.
Interestingly, the pilot bushing is a solid version of a number 6003 roller bearing (17mm bore x 35mm OD.). Funny, eh?
