someone got a great deal...
...on this '66 F250:

I asked him some questions, and it sounded solid as a rock. WAAAAAAY less than the same truck I bought 2 yrs ago in the same condition. Story of my life.

Out here in SoCalifornia, these trucks are a dime a dozen, and don't generate the interest they do elsewhere. Average prices for rust free running 1961/66 pickups...$500.00 and up. The 1967/79's don't fare much better. My gardener just bought an all original 1973 Ranger...$800.00.

Yeah, you're right, ND. I got bit by the old-truck bug when I moved out there after college from Michigan. Talk about rust-belt!
I went thru a half-dozen old trucks, many wished I kept, the coolest being a '65 F100 352 automatic that I bought from a construction company, Southern California Erectors. Both doors had the company logo painted on them, a silhouette (sp?) of the state of Cal with a huge block-and-tackle and hook lifting the state right about where the South bay juts out and faces south. I used the truck to move myself, a motorcycle, belongings, and tow a '74 Landcruiser out to St. Louis. I almost crapped my pants coming down the other side of the continental divide with those brakes and a 4,500 lb truck pushing me. On a trip back to Cal from St. Loius, I found a pristine '66 CS with an Alaskan camper on it, so of course I had to have it, and sold the '65 in St. Louis. Wish I'd kept both of them.
You are very fortunate to live there, I hope I get to again before I die. Take care!
