cam phaser problems in 07's

Not sure when they finally got them straightened out. All I know is my 05 has been at ford for 12 days know getting the camphaser and lifters done(tell me that isnt a little excesive) apparently they are having some part supply issue. Atleast they gave me a Fusion to drive for the time being, and I am pleasantly suprised with the power the good ol v6 is putting out, not to mention the mpg. All I want is my Truck back.

How does one tell if the cam phaser is out of whack?
When i first start mine up, and it's idling high, it does sound kind of like a diesel, but it quiets right down when the idle goes back to normal.
Also, these are covered by the new factory 60,000 mile powertrain warranty, right?
