rich a/f mixture cause hot motor???

Will a rich air fuel mixture cause a 460 motor to run hot??? I just installed a pair of O2 sensors and a gauge to monitor the mixture. It shows that it is running rich.

A rich A/F mixture won't make your truck run too hot. How's your cooling system? Any one item that seems like it needs replaced more than others?

Radiator has just been worked by radiator shop, new water pump, new theromastat and all new hoses but I replaced the carb which had larger jets in it but was still a 600cfm.

How do you know it's running hot? Is it boiling over?

Double check with another temp gauge. Retarded timing, a bad fan clutch, and restricted exhaust can cause overheating.
