Ok guys, since the motor blew up in my F-350. I have found a motor out of a 95 van. Now will my stage 2's out of my 96 work with the wiring and stuff of the 95 motor?? I'm really hoping that they do..... I hope to switch out the injectors and get the motor put back in tomorrow.... Heres a few pics of the old block if they will upload...
Oh lord.... Never again will I pull out a van engine.... It was actually more of a bus so we couldnt lift the cab... ended up fighting it out the front and cutting out most of the crossmember.... Took me and another guy most of a day to get it done...
It just let loose right after I had just pulled out on the road in town turning maybe 1,500 rpm's... and it only had a little under 93,000 miles on it....
Thats kind of what I thought too...... But they had been in the motor for over 3,000 miles with no troubles, no knocks or anything. It just let loose..... So I dont really think thats what caused it...
VANS!! BOOOOOOOO!! plasma cutter would be my tool of choice for pulling the motor out of a van! Hey what year was that van and does it still have the throttle pedal Assembly? if it does there is somebody here needing one and they are exstinct for the last 3 years from ford! they are discontinued! what a crock. See this thread here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...mbly-help.html
Anyway yes the long block is all the same and your injectors will work just fine. double check the oil pan not sure if they are the same but I think they are.
Oh yeah too bad to hear about you engine. Sounds like your in good shape though. keep us posted if you tear down the trashed motor as to what you see.
It was a 1995 Van, but we are keeping all the wiring from it because here sometime we are going to use it to put a powerstroke in a 1979 Ford F-250 supercab 4x4.... should make a neat truck.... Yeah a plasma cutter is def, the tool of choice to remove a van engine...
