Power window motor F150
Good Morning. Does anyone know how to remove the power window mechanical device that raises and lowers the window from the power window motor, and how to remove the power window motor from the driver door on a 1991 F150 Larriet. I have the door panel off and can barely get my hand in to work on or see in there. When I hit the window switch to raise or lower, my guage show a load so I believe that the "arm or something" may be stuck. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance.

I have a problem with my 89 also. If I power the window down to far it will not come back up. It will also show a draw when working the switch. Thing is If I wait a day it will work again? Im told there is an inline breaker that will reset. Not wanting to tear everything apart I simply watch how far I go down. Every once in a while I forget and end up having to wait it out again

There are 3 dimples in the door sheetmetal in the area where the motor is mounted. To remove the motor you have to drill these out and remove the bolts thus exposed that connect the motor/gearbox to the regulator assembly. You can also drill out the 4 rivets that fasten the whole assembly to the door, and reassemble with bolts and captive nuts.
I have had a problem with one of my window motors seizing in the full up position. When this happens a few raps on the motor with a screwdriver while operating the switch will free it.
If however the motor operates(you can hear it), but the window doesn't move, then the problem is in the gearbox. The failure point here are 3 plastic rollers that disintegrate and jamb the gearbox. These rollers are available on Ebay and elsewhere to effect the repair. https://www.ford-trucks.com/lc/lc.ph...QQcmdZViewItem

I managed to remove the window motor and remove the top plate to expose the gear. I cannot find the three rollers that are supposed to go bad. Nevertheless, the motor gear spins via the switch both forward and reverse so I am assuming the motor is good. The window regulator was sort of locked so I worked it until it moved to raise and lower. I wanted to remove it from the door but I had a heck of a time trying to remove the rivets by drilling them out. I was not successfull. I broke three bits in the process. I will attempt to reinstall the motor with the regulator still attached to the door. Is there anything I should be especially aware of during the reinstall. Thank you
Here is a pic of the motor.

Where the window regulator arms attach to the window channel that attaches to the glass, there are window rollers there. They are plastic and two pieces, inner and outer. When these break, window either jams in the track, or falls down inside the door. There are two inner and two outer rollers per side.

Issue resolved. I finally got the window put back together again, after greasing all the tracks and the teeth on the window regulator. At this point everything is working properly. The only thing I can assume is that the tracks were dry enough that the window and regulator were binding. I thank all for your help and advice. (Ford ought to have a better way to remove a regulator though)
