Smile If you're having 2nd thoughts about a PSD

For anyone with cuumins envy ,,,,,,,, this may be the cure!!!!
Just go to the Dooge TE site and look at the HELP forum. I did alot of reading there at about2-4:30 AM to see if I could find an answer to a problem. All I can say is our PSD issues seem very minor and wayyyyy less expensive than the multitude of issues that Doogy owners seem to deal with. Also, I think that the people giving advice here are awesome but I had no idea of how good you guys are until I had something to compare with! Anyone considering a move to the darkside should really do some reading there before dropping the wallet on the table.
The real killer part of my visit to the darkside was hearing someone ask a question about a PSD problem that was minor, simple and cheap to fix,,,, you should hear what their experts came up with. I wasn't allowed to post an answer because of restricted rights on the site {look but don't post!!] I felt really bad that they were getting bad info about minor problems.
You know the old saying about ,I felt sorry for myself for not having shoes until......

To add to what you've posted, I just bought (in Feb) an early 03 with the 6.0. Every where you look there are folks who had problems with the early 6.0s.

I bought mine with 34K on it and I just turned 43K and am LOVING this truck. It's got tons of power and I've not had a single issue with it.

Sometimes I guess we just have to realize just how good we have it.

I just bought a 99 SD just so I can put a DT466 in it. May blow away a few Dodges when it gets done.

I was just thinking the other day when I was sitting next to a Cornwell truck w/ a DT466 on the side if anyone has ever done that or even thought about it. Sounds like a fun project.

Nerverenuf, that is absolutely awesome!!!!!

But I have to ask, do ya'll ever plan on running the overhead and what will you do when it needs an injector or exaust gaskets?
I can't stand the fact I have to remove the doghouse in my internationals just to run the overhead or work on the top side and they have alooooooott more space.

Good luck!!!

I'll have to see when I get the engine closer to install. I may have the cab lift up, or some similar method to speed up valves & injector issues.

You could make things a bit easier on yourself and seek out a DT360, its a downsized version of the DT466 and was used from about 1987 through 1993. Its not as heavy, long or as tall as the 466 but still has wet sleeves and an inline injection pump.

If I used a DT360, I may as well use a Cummins 359. I'm looking specifically to do the 466. From what it looks like in the engine bay, I wont have too much problems with firewall chopping(if any). I'll make sure to have plenty of video of its first run.

Would you haul 6000 pounds with a 67 F100 that has no power steering and 4 wheel drum brakes? A co-worker let me borrow his truck, I had to fill his tank and give him a dozen cookies. The truck had no engine when I got it.

Dude, FORD COUNTRY! lol, I probably wouldn't have either but you can gurantee i would have said I did and I wouldn't have snapped a pic of the back end of a duracrap either cause now no matter how much power you can put down with that ford, your always gonna hear that "it had to be towed by my duramax" line from that guy. lol, Oh well

Cowboy Steve

P.S.- What kind of cookies?

They're called "monster cookies", they have peanut butter, M&M's, choc chips & oatmeal in em. It's like a meal eating just 1.
