Metal Shed Sweats!

My father has a metal car shed that sweats and drips and leaves ugly white spots on his cars. You can not get these spots off the paint. It is like it goes down into the clear.Does anyone else have this problem and what can be done to prevent this? Thanks,Russell

Air circulation might help. As far as getting the spots off try the appearance forum.

ventilation, like Eric said. At work we had a shipping container filled with steel parts, and they all rusted from the humidity, due to no ventilation. Just a couple holes and window screen would help.

This is an open shed. The problem is the worst in the the winter. It is not closed in on the sides or rear!I think the moisture is dripping of the aluminum framing.Russell

where are you? I'm in FL and I've never seen anything like that happening that wasn't from lack of ventilation.

try using toilet bowl cleaner SLO BLUE. I worked at a cement plant years ago and the lime dust was hell when it rained. SLO Blue was the only thing to take it up.

It is humid air condensing on the cool metal frame etc. Maybe PVC pipe split lengthwise would act as tiny rain gutters to collect the drips??? Cloth or other fibrous material tied to the underside of the frame with zip ties to absorb the drips until they can dry out???

Yes,I thought about spraying rubberized undercoating on the metal framing or something just to kind of insulate to stop the moisture. Russell
