2001 F150 5.4 Hesitation

I'm new to this site so excuse me if I post wrong.
I'm having problems with my engine hesitating/stuttering at low end acceleration. It idles fine and when I push the pedal hard it takes off just fine with no stuttering . I replaced the fuel filter and added high octane gas and a bottle of booster but still acts the same.
Any ideas?

I've heard a lot about cleaning the MAF, especially after going to a K&N FIPK cold air intake and losing gas mileage even while on the highway with the cruise on so I know I'm not putting my foot down. I've heard that sometimes oil gets on the MAF from the K&N filter as they may over oil it at the factory. Has anyone ever cleaned the MAF after losing mpg with their K&N and regained all of that mpg because I've lost about 2mpg.
